The Town of Northwood New Hampshire
Northwood, a small town in southeastern New Hampshire, was founded in 1773 when its first settlers successfully petitioned the Governor's Council requesting separation from Nottingham. Since this section of Nottingham had been known as the great north woods, the newly formed town was called Northwood.
City of Northwood Ohio
The City of Northwood is situated in the northeastern corner of Wood County and is part of the Northwest Ohio Maumee River Valley Region.
The 1980 Census indicated that the village's population had exceeded 5,000 allowing the village to become a "home rule" city. The voters of the Village of Northwood voted on November 3, 1981 to establish the Charter of the Municipality of Northwood, Ohio. The Village of Northwood officially became the City of Northwood on January 1, 1982, as designated by the State of Ohio.

The City of Northwood is located in the Northwood Township of Grand Forks County in the northeastern part of North Dakota. Northwood is 35 miles southwest of Grand Forks. Northwood has been recognized as a Tree City USA community for 20 consecutive years.
