I am searching the Lidiard/Liddiard, Sarmon, Furner and Turner families of the Island and would be grateful if you could publish my letter on your noticeboard regarding my search for family on the IOW and hope one of your readers may have a connection.
I am searching the Lidiard/Liddiard, Sarmon, Furner and Turner families of the island. Luke Lidiard and his wife Ann lived on the Isle of Wight about 1760 and they had five children. Their daughter Ann Lidiard married Francis Sarmon, captain of the cutter ‘Swan’ owned by William Arnold. Another one of their daughters, Elizabeth, married David Turner in Portsea. We believe David was born Carisbrooke to William and Jenny Turner, originally from Brook. Another son Luke Lidiard married Ann Furner.
Info also requested on Miss Lidiard’s ‘Establishment for Young Ladies’ in Cowes, that another daughter ran.
I would appreciate any info that can help me in my research of my family. I will reply to all letters. My address is 119 Harewood Gardens, Sanderstead, South Croydon, Surrey, CR2 9BW or email: karen@kthatcher.wanadoo.co.uk
