Horseshoe pedestrian crossing still broken

Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, 15th January 2008, 09:30

How many more days are those traffic lights going to remain broken. At this time of the year with the amount of travel, rain and poor light this is a recipe for a serious accident.

Have the Council not learnt anything. See the article in the IWCP http://www.iwcp.co.uk/News/WHY_WERE_LIGHTS_NOT_REPAIRED_1.aspx

While Im in a ‘complaining’ mood (yes, thats me above)I was travelling from the main road towards Wyatts Lane yesterday and. Yes, Im sorry, its the ‘pinch point’ again ! Traffic was parked from the ‘pinch point’ right down to Wyatts Lane’ How was any car coming ‘up’ Pallance Road going to be able to take advantage of their ‘right of way’………they could hardly see the pinch point and the traffic coming from the main road was dominating the flow. What ‘was’ the instigator of this ridiculous idea thinking of when he dreamt up this pinch point idea. Sir….you are an idiot !

Lets hope that drivers will be tolerant while whoever is responsible for the repair gets their act together. The people in control of our roads and its safety ‘furniture’ like crossings, traffic lights and cats eyes are totally oblivious to the need for maintenace and repair of such items. Take a trip from Newport to Sandown on a dark night and count how many cats eyes are dead. On second thoughts, just count the live ones, it will be easier.
