Can any resident help with the location of Iona Villa, Northwood, occupied by the related Grant family c.1870s & also a property named Staffa, possibly also in Northwood [otherwise Cowes] & likewise occupied c.1860s?

I know that in the past ‘Cowes’ was referred to as ‘Northwood’ but……………in Wyatts Lane in Northwood (as we know it today) are a pair of old semis named IONA & STAFFA. Could this be your ‘villas’. Would you like a snap of them emailed to you?
I think you will find that in the 1860′s Cowes was just a suburb of Northwood. ie. What we know today as ‘Cowes’ was in fact ‘Northwood’
Have just traced both houses to Queens Rd., Cowes in an online Hants. directory – the census returns have them entered under Northwood for some reason. Grant was a member of the Royal Yacht Squadron and after his first [Whiting] wife died he married one of the Baring girls on the Island.

Both house names ring a bell with me. I will find them and send you digi photos.
