We could force posters to enter an imaginary name or initials if we wished. From now on my postings will always be signed Luke Skywalker, what can I say I am middle aged and dreaming of sports cars.

    Best regards

Thanks to all for your kind comments. Yes it was hard work mainly by John Pullen and myself but we are pleased with the results and I for one lost half a stone (which was good!).
We do have another planting project in the pipeline and the new gardens will need some watering if we get a prolonged dry spell in the summer.

So anyone who can help, even a bit, is very welcome to say so in these exchanges and give either John or myself contact details. If you prefer my tel. no. is 295556.

    Cheerio for now, Roger Mazillius

They look good and I see them as I drive through on my way to work. I think flower beds are so pretty and much prefer them to the huge grass and vegetation that other verge planters choose.
May you continue to make this part of the Island colourful and if house prices continue to fall I may even be able to live in your pretty village.

  4. John Pullen says:

Thank you for your kind comments ref. the flower beds. All three are now completed.
We have plans for future projects around the village and would welcome any help that villagers would care to offer.
Details of projects will be on the Website.

I have to agree that the flower beds do look great around Northwood, particularly the display outside the post office that was being worked on last week – it looks like a lot of hard work goes into them.
Is it all done through volunteer work, as I’d love to be able to lend a hand/support some time.

    Thanks

I am amazed, finally at last some one has shown a degree of humour. Instead of the stuffed shirt mentality, there are people who can rise to the challenges from posters and enter into the spirit of issues where necessary.

Keep it up ‘admin’ or ‘Luke Skywalker’(aka Pete) or who ever.
The forums need to be serious when necessary, but certainly jovial at the right time.

What all forums require, is for viewers to feel able to contribute without fear of snide, or sarcastic responses. Let me say at the outset that IMHO the people of Northwood probably would enjoy the web site more, and feel part of the community by entering into the spirit of the social threads appearing on this site.

We are all entitled to our own opinions on whatever subject we care to air,(subject to legal constraints) alternative views help to bind society together, destructive views and comments tear communities apart.

Keep up the good work, make Northwood a worthy place to live.

Well ‘IMHO’ it would B betta if pepul were 2 rite in
    usin th english proper?

To reply to the original post, yes the flower beds do look smart.

A little tongue in cheek with this post, but if you cannot smile some times life will be very dull.

Should all messages have the posters name or initials included to enable readers to see whether the comments are from people with a vested interest? Just a thought.
