Just a Thought

Jill Mazillius, St John the Baptist, Northwood

.
Harvest is here again and soon we will be digging out our winter coats and snuggling down for the dark evenings with a good book, iPad or a favourite TV programme.
As you know Harvest is traditionally a way of celebrating the successful gathering in of the crops that feed us through the cold, barren months of winter and to thank God for that.
Some people believe in God, some are not sure and some definitely do not believe.
I wonder where you stand?

.
All points of view are valid but if you look around at all the amazing things life offers us in nature, including the harvest, and then consider infinity – time as well as space – who really knows the truth?
You may just find that a spiritual belief and trust in God is just as feasible as the scientific explanation of infinity and much more rewarding in this increasingly hectic and often confusing world.
Why not experience the peace and tranquillity of our lovely 12th Century Church and explore our point of view? We at St John’s are all at different stages of our spiritual journey, some know their bible well and others make a good cuppa and home-made cake – try our regular coffee mornings!

.
We are your local Northwood Church, available for Weddings, Baptisms and Funerals but we have so much more to offer.

.
Hope to see you there sometime

.
Jill
