Dear Friends,

It seems a long time ago now when in every shop there was the sound of Christmas hymns bellowing down the aisle to make us feel in the festive mood.

But a hymn is not just for Christmas!

The congregation of Northwood enjoy getting together for many religious celebrations throughout the year and regularly form a choir for such events.  There are between 10 and 15 of us of all ages and abilities.  Some of us have been singing for years, where for others it’s their first time singing with a choir.  We make a joyous noise and welcome people from all denominations to join us in worship.  We do not meet on a regular basis and sometimes only need a couple of rehearsals to learn an anthem or two.  We meet on a Saturday Morning in Northwood Church at 10 o’clock and our singing lasts for about ¾ hour.  This year we plan to sing “Jerusalem Joy” by Roger Jones on Saturday 7th April.  It is a group of songs and narrations telling the story of Christ’s Death and Resurrection.

We would like to invite anyone who wishes to sing to join us on Saturday 10th March at 10.00am for our first rehearsal.

In the bible, Psalm 100 says:

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!

Now it doesn’t specify if we all have to be in tune or even sing from the same hymn sheet!  In which case it is an open invitation for you all to come and join us.

God Bless
