NORTHWOOD COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP REPORT

(Eileen Turner-Palmerton, Secretary)

.

July and August Residents Events were very enjoyable. In July we had an interesting talk by Mr Mike North on the Royal Navy on the Isle of Wight. He showed us many pictures of the different types of ships that were used, also photographs of the sailors (men and women) who served on them.
.
In August our speaker was Mr Bob Longton, from Carisbrooke Castle Museum. His talk was entitled ‘A Victorian tour of the Isle of Wight’. We all had a great time trying to recognise the different parts of the Island. Many places are almost the same now as they were in Queen Victoria’s day.
.
Our grateful thanks to both our speakers for their talks.
.
The new planters are all in place with their beautiful flowers. Thanks to John & Hazel Pullen for planting them. The village looks lovely and we should all be proud.
.
Our next Residents Event will be on Wednesday 20th September at 2.30pm in the W.I. Hall.
.
Our remaining Residents Events for 2017 are as follows:
October 18th
November 15th
.
For future events, please contact 01983 282242 or 01983 296020 if you are in need of transport.

.

The next Northwood Community Partnership Meeting is on

Tuesday 19th September 2017 at 7.00pm in the Travellers Joy public house, Pallance Road.
.
If you are interested in what happens in the Village, like the upkeep of the flowers and the Residents Events, we would appreciate anyone who has a spare hour to help, to please come along and see what we are trying to do for the Residents of the Village. Please contact any of the above telephone numbers for more information. We would be very pleased to see you!
