The 10th annual Antiques and Collectors Fair on Sunday 23rd February raised a total of £1,475 for the IOW
Branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association. These vital funds will go directly to help local people living
with MND on the Isle of Wight.

The event is an annual tribute day to Mavis Summerfield who sadly died of MND in March 2002. The
Antiques Fair is organised by her two daughters Doreen and Jennie who both live on IOW.

Doreen commented, ‘We were absolutely delighted to have 500 people attend the event and the house was
buzzing. Thanks to my two sons Jacq and Ellis who helped on the admission table, together with other MND
committee members. Thanks also to ITS Tools for displaying our lovely new banners.’

Jennie added, ‘Without the loyal support of our stallholders the event would not be the success it continues to
be. We also had fantastic support from Red Funnel to help with the advertising, along with Northwood
Garage and BAE Systems Cowes Employees Fund who also sponsored adverts for us. The icing on the
cake was a donation of refreshments from Barry at Bookers in Cowes. Our thanks to all.
The staff at Northwood House provided their usual professional help and a special mention to Lindsay for her
wonderful home-made cakes – great for the event but not the waistline!’

The date of the 2015 Fair is already booked with Northwood House for Sunday 22nd February 2015. See
