Cowes Heritage Photo Display and Autumn Exhibition – UPDATED

Posted by Admin on Monday, 25th August 2008, 00:00

Due to the reorganisation of schools it was thought appropriate to show a selection of the 2004 "Cowes School Days" exhibition again at Cowes Library, Beckford Road.
It will be available for viewing until November 10th during normal opening hours.

This year’s exhibition, entitled Transport Through the Ages, focuses on both public and private transport in and around the Cowes area together with many of the people involved.  It highlights transport by air, sea, road and rail – all of which feature in Cowes Heritage’s latest video.

The Exhibition runs from Saturday 18th October until Sunday 9th November inclusive and is open daily from 10am – 4pm at Northwood House, Cowes.  FREE ADMISSION  (Wightbus new services 30 and 32 pass by the door.)

A display of Vintage Mini cars will be held on Sunday 2nd November from 11am – 1pm in the grounds of Northwood House (Ward Avenue side).

If anyone has any old photographs of old forms of transport, but in particular of cycles and/or memorabilia relating to cycles, and would be willing to lend them to us, please contact John Groves 14 Nodes Road, Cowes – Tel: 01983 299221 who will make the necessary arrangements.
