Northwood & Gurnard Parish Councils to merge? Official public consultation started

Following all the discussion on this site about the merits of a parish council, the expenditure on administration, and only 4 recent condidates for 8 places etc, the Isle of Wight Council is holding Islandwide Consultation ahead of a review of the local governance arrangements.

This could see Northwood, Gurnard and Cowes become a single parish/town council, with ‘wards’ to represent the localities.

Sound good?
