Is it possible to have anything done about the parking at the top of Uplands Road at the junction with Fieldway Crescent?
There is always a car parked there (usually either a Micra or a Honda), and no matter how slow you drive past it you still end up faced with a car coming round the blindish bend – this happened to me again today and unfortunately the other driver caught the curb and damaged his wheel.
He is going to speak with the house in Uplands Road (which does have a driveway) about compensation.

The owner of the car in question does not live in Uplands Road but leaves it there for several days at a time.
Parking in Uplands Road.
Sorry to hear that that motorist damaged his vehicle but the scenario you describe happens many many times a day, and has done so for a decade or more. I found myself in this predicament several times when returning from work and one night so mad I fired off a missive to a certain local councillor and forgot all about it.
Few months down the line received a reply broadly outlining, that although sympathetic the council felt that by preventing parking all along both sides of Uplands, it would cure one issue and drive parking into neighbouring area’s.
Loose loose situation, please a few, upset many more!
Who would be on the council?
Let me be quite frank…yes I do live in Venner Avenue…and no and I suspect many of my neighbours do not want to live within a car park zone.
Like I say, who would be a councillor?
To all who drive in the village, drive carefully, especially at this time of the year. Thoughtful parking can save accidents.
