I am researching the Jenkins family who lived in Pallance Lane, but I believe came from Gurnard area originally. Beatrice Jenkins was a founder member of the Northwood W.I. I believe, and also was a sort of village ‘midwife’. She was married to William Jenkins a builder/sawyer/carpenter.
I think the family once lived in a place called Tinkers Lane but I can’t seem to find much about it. They are also related to the Squibb family I believe. Any help would be most appreciated.

Thank you all for your help. My Mum-in-laws Mother was Beatrice Annie Jenkins, nee Bundy which I believe is also a local name.her Father was William George Jenkins, a builder/Carpenter of Northwood
I can confirm that TINKERS LANE was renamed PALLANCE ROAD (NB. Not ‘Lane’…..Pallance Lane is a different ‘road’ running from the bottom of Palance Road to Wyatts Lane)
I believe Tinkers Lane is simply the old name for Pallance Road, according to Perry’s Guide Map.
Thank so much for the information I will do that,it will I’m sure be a great help.

With the greatest respect, may I suggest that you might like to check out the recently established ‘burials register’ attached to the FRIENDS OF NORTHWOOD CEMETERY website. You will find 26 ‘Jenkins’ interred there and 3 by the name of ‘Bundy’

For assistance in locating graves, you may contact Barry or Jon from the FRIENDS list.
I ‘think’ Tinkers Lane is the old name for Pallance Lane. I am sure someone else can confirm.
