The meeting this morning voted to continue with this application and not to accept the land-owner’s compromise offer.
There were approximately 50 minutes of presentation and discussion before John Pullen proposed and Paul Fuller seconded non-acceptance.
There were no votes against and four abstentions (from nearby home-owners who have had planning refusals on their applications to develop back-gardens in the vicinity).
I shall therefore formally notify the land-owner of the decision.
The application will now proceed to determination by the duly appointed Independent Inspector at County Hall on 8th February 2010. Three days have been reserved for the hearing.
If there are any residents who have not made a statement in support of the application and who are prepared to do so, please contact me as soon as possible. Tel: 01983 295556 or email: roger.mazillius@iow.gov.uk
I am particularly grateful to those who attended this morning.
Best wishes
Cllr Roger Mazillius.

How can you not support what ever decision that comes from a meeting without being there? Its a fact if you dont appear at a meeting decisions happen, and you have to accept them.
I agree although several had given apologies and told me they would support what ever decision came from the meeting.

I was surprised at the poor turnout for the village green meeting on Sat considering the so-called importance of the occasion. The 4 “rogue abstainers” were only outnumbered by about a dozen people. Hardly a landslide.
