Councillor Roger Mazillius

Councillor Roger Mazillius

Welcome to my website. I try to update this regularly but certain items of age will be retained for their intrinsic usefulness. I welcome, comments, suggestions etc. and hope you find something of interest on this site.

Biography

I was first elected to the I.W. Council electoral division of Northwood in 1998 as a Conservative Councillor and having represented Northwood since then both as a Conservative and an Independent Councillor, I am pleased to have been selected as the prospective Conservative Candidate for the I.W.Council elections to be held on 4th. June.

Following changes authorised by the Electoral Commission, the number of Electoral Divisions on the Island is reduced from 48 to 40 from the June elections which have been moved from the usual May date to coincide with the European Elections, thus making considerable financial savings in the cost of otherwise running two separate elections.

The present six divisions in the Cowes area are reduced to four with Northwood joining part of the south of Cowes - including Place Road, Place Side, Broadfields Avenue, Highland Road, Rogerson Close, Ronsons Close, Love Lane (part), part of Park Road, Upper Moorgreen Road, the new Westbury development off Seaview Road, Three Gates Road and Windmill Close to form a new division called Cowes South and Northwood. This has just over one thousand more electors ( making a total electorate of some 2,900) than the old Northwood division.

I will be visiting all parts of this new division over the next four months to meet residents and to hear and to respond to their views. In the meantime I am available by telephone, email or letter as shown in my contact details.I am in addition ready to call on local residents if that is their preference or to meet people at my home by appointment.
