Hi,

Can anybody tell me which mobile phone company has the best reception in Northwood?

I am with Orange and the signal is poor to non-existent in Pallance Road.

Any help much appreciated.

Regards T.

Ive had both ORANGE & VODAPHONE and found them both next to useless. Im on O2 now and its very much better except for the wobbly roundabout area at the end of Three Gates Road.

Your phone is likely to have a network scan function (as you might use abroad to select a prefered network). In the UK the 3 or 4 non-home networks will be prohibited (i.e. you cannot connect to them), but you should be able to see if they have been detected or not. Repeat the test in different parts of your house or car to gauge relative signal strength.

Hi,

Thank you for both your help. The network search showed Vodaphone, O2 and T-Mobile available in the garden and few rooms around the house. Though T-Mobile did not appear in one room on the first search but subsequent network searches found it.

Orange failed in all but one room and even then the signal was very weak. Its a pity you cannot tell signal strength of the networks it finds.

Many thanks once again and goodbye Orange.
