May I thank all those who turned out on Thursday 4th June to vote for me and all those who voted earlier using the Postal Voting procedure.
We had one of the highest turnouts in Northwood's, approximately 50%, and an overall including Cowes South of 45.53%.
My personal vote of 987 was the highest of all 38 single Member Electoral Divisions and my majority of 737 was the highest in all Divisions.
I give these figures not out of conceit but out of pride that after 11 years as Northwood's I.W. Councillor, I have so much support amongst residents and this gives me a great deal of personal satisfaction.
It is however not just a vote for me but in my opinion a vote of support for my hard-working colleagues in the Community Partnership and Parish Council who do so much practical work within the village.
I now of course have the extra responsibility for another approximately 1000 electors in Cowes South and so the practical help I receive from so many will I hope continue to greatly assist me over the next four years.
I have also been elected to Cowes Town Council for Cowes South Ward. I felt it only right that as I represent Northwood at Parish level, I should offer to do the same for Cowes.
I would be glad to receive residents' feedback on this because I know there are some who feel I should not undertake this additional work but should leave that to other local residents.
That of course needs more people to stand as candidates and they will have an opportunity to do this next May when we have the Northwood Parish Elections for a four year term.
So please look into the pros and cons of standing next year. I will be very pleased to meet anyone who wants to know more about what this entails practically.
In the meantime, many thanks again.
Best wishes
Roger Mazillius
