I have a postcard of The Fox Inn.

It is by a river and the date on the postmark is unclear, as is the place of posting. All that I can make out is I.O.W ...OOD.

The card was sent to a person in Switzerland by (can only read the surname) " ... Manning".

Does anyone know of such a person with that surname also was there ever a pub of that name in this area.

Just because it was posted on the Island doesn't 100% mean the picture is of somewhere on the Island...

Im sure a teacher at Cowes Secondary Modern School in the 60s was a Manning, Jack I think. Lived locally but of course not still alive today.
